Visual & Motion Design
Lumen, a global telecommunications company, was navigating a shift from traditional brand identity toward a modern, digital‑first presence. The challenge was to evolve a legacy system into something cohesive, scalable, and expressive across web, marketing, and product platforms, while aligning cross‑functional teams around a unified design direction.
Role & Collaboration
I’m part of a web design team within a larger 40+ person in-house creative organization at Lumen. As a key contributor, I lead visual and motion strategy across multiple phases — from ideation and prototyping to implementation — collaborating closely with UX, marketing, and engineering partners. I’m currently involved in the company’s ongoing rebranding and modernization efforts, helping evolve Lumen’s digital experience to reflect its future-facing direction.
Responsibilities included: motion strategy, interaction exploration, UI component evolution, and design system extension.

Visual system refinement: Modernized UI components (typography, palette, spacing) with responsiveness in mind. Partnered with developers to ensure fidelity and performance.
Research & Alignment
Reviewed brand history, user contexts, and existing design system gaps. Contributed to cross‑team alignment workshops to clarify priorities and success metrics.
Motion Strategy & Prototyping
Explored scroll‑triggered motion and interactive patterns through prototypes and motion libraries. Used Lottie workflows to translate storytelling into scalable code‑ready assets.
I selected scroll‑triggered interactions to balance delight with performance, ensuring motion enhanced comprehension without distraction.
Motion & Visual Strategy
Through motion, visual refinement, and AI-assisted ideation with Firefly and Copilot, we delivered a more expressive and cohesive digital presence that increased engagement with key marketing modules.
